DISCOVERS THE VOICES OF VSN INTERNATIONAL

REAL STORIES, REAL IMPACT, REDEFINING GLOBAL CONNECTION

One of our clients faced soaring Azure Virtual Machine (VM) costs. Our analysis revealed the VMs ran 24/7. We observed their requirement only needed from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 8 PM. To tackle this, we implemented automation using Azure Automation Accounts. PowerShell scripts were created to start VMs at 8 AM and shut them down at 8 PM on weekdays, ensuring they remained off on weekends. After thorough testing, the results were remarkable—VMs operated only during business hours, reducing runtime significantly. This simple yet effective solution slashed costs, providing the client with an efficient, cost-optimized Azure setup.

A client’s work came to a halt when their FTP service on a Windows virtual machine stopped functioning. Investigation revealed the root cause: user permissions for the FTP directory had been accidentally removed. To resolve this, our team quickly verified the FTP configuration and pinpointed the issue. Permissions were restored, granting the user full access (read, write, execute). Thorough testing ensured the service was fully operational. The client confirmed successful access, and operations resumed seamlessly. This case underscored the critical role of careful permission management in preventing disruptions. A small fix saved the day!

One of our client’s reliable Point-to-Site VPN abruptly stopped working after their laptop was formatted. Panic set in as deadlines loomed. Upon investigation, the culprit was uncovered: the critical child certificate for authentication was missing. Though the client had reinstalled the VPN, the formatting wiped essential configurations. The solution was simple yet precise. The missing child certificate was provided and meticulously imported into the laptop’s certificate store. After guided testing, the VPN roared back to life, reconnecting the client to their network. The incident underscored a vital lesson: always safeguard essential certificates during system updates or reconfigurations.
